About the event
Welcome to The Hope Summit Virtual Book Club, a new virtual option for the quarterly book club that we host each month in Charleston, South Carolina. Join us on Wednesday, April 1st, at 6 PM on Google Meet to celebrate the arrival of Earth Month by exploring the shared themes and ideas from "The Serviceberry" and "Phenology".
We started the year with Robin Wall Kimmerer's "Serviceberry" paired with Theresa Crimmins's "Phenology". These two books helped us reconnect with the natural world around us by slowing down and noticing the subtle patterns of nature, such as the budding and leafing of trees, the emergence of insects, the migration of birds, and the intricate systems that support and sustain life. We began a Phenology journaling exercise, recording the sights, sounds, and small things that you notice in your favorite spot to connect with nature as Spring arrives. And now we will examine…
