About the event
Join South Carolina Aquarium, The Citadel Near Center for Climate Studies, Charleston Parks Conservancy, Carolina Ocean Alliance and The MARSH Project, Kids Teaching Flood Resilience and local community partners for an MLK Day of Service litter sweep and food drive at Harmon Field and Hagood Avenue in Charleston.
Please bring a nonperishable* food item to donate, a reusable water bottle for yourself, and get involved in this great service opportunity!
All supplies and instructions will be provided to conduct a litter sweep with data collection along Hagood Avenue, including Gadsden Creek and Harmon Field. Food donations will be delivered to One80 Place following the event.
We’ll meet at Harmon Field near the intersection of Hagood Avenue and Fishburne Street. Street parking is available throughout the area.
*Recommended canned goods and other nonperishables: stock products (chicken and beef), pasta and rice (brown or white), soups, canned tuna or chicken, salad dressings, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, oatmeal, grits, coffee, etc.
