About the event
Oyster reefs supply vital habitat for hundreds of marine species and improve the water quality of our waterways. We're teaming up with South Carolina Oyster Recycling & Enhancement to build this essential habitat using recycled oyster shells.
We need 75 volunteers for a successful event! We hope we can count on you to be there!
**All participants must complete an SCDNR Volunteer Agreement Form. Volunteers who are under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign their form.
Please RSVP prior to the event as event times and location may change. Some events may be limited on the number of participants we can accommodate, so an RSVP is very important!!
Everyone should wear closed-toed shoes (no crocs or flip flops! Boots or old sneakers recommended) and clothes that can get wet and muddy. We will provide water, gloves, arm protectors, eye protection, sunscreen, first aid and bug spray. Please bring a refillable water bottle to minimize waste! We hope to see you on the shoreline!
